Helping kids and communities rise is a true community effort, and it takes friends from all over California to make our programs a success. Without teachers, volunteers, business owners, government officials, neighbors, public safety officers, donors and more, our programs just wouldn’t be as effective. And the visitors to our program sites – some from as far away as Ireland! – always leave with the knowledge that The Leaven really is a community effort.
That’s why we have a variety of events throughout the year — to bring together all of our different supporters for a night (or day) of fun for change.
Our Annual Gala is one of these events, but it is one of our most important. In the past, this event has raise thousands of dollars to help fund our programs and secure the backing we need to open new programs like our Napa program which will be opening in a matter of days.
In just a few weeks, we will once again be holding our Annual Gala, and we are so excited about this exciting event that will bring together some of our most loyal supporters for a night of celebration, “where hope is the guest of honor.”
And this year’s event looks like it will be bigger than ever, with tickets selling out weeks in advance, and exciting auction items including a custom promotional video, a trip to New York and a TradeWinds Sailing Trip.
What changes this year’s Gala will bring to The Leaven and our community is still unknown, but we will keep you updated through this blog and our Facebook page. This past year has been an incredible year of growth and success for our students and programs, and we are excited to see what additional changes this year’s event will bring.
We cannot wait to share with you what exciting changes this event will bring to more neighborhoods in California. With your partnership, together we are helping kids and communities rise.
