As the New Year begins, we turn our attention to the future of The Leaven. As we continue to grow and expand our programs, we rely more and more on our organization’s foundation which keeps us strong and stable. This includes all of you who support us — our church partners, teachers, community leaders, volunteers and supporters who stand with our program every day. And at the very heart of our organization is our board of directors.
These men and women have dedicated themselves to guiding The Leaven so that it remains a tool for God’s work. They protect our organization and its values so we will be able to continue to help kids and communities rise for many years to come.
With the new year brings some new board members to share their expertise with us and make The Leaven better than ever! They include Annette Forney, Chick-Fil-a operator; David Zellner, director of In-Service Operations at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo; and Mat Fratus, City of Rialto fire chief. Mat is our first board member representing our Southern California work, and we are excited to have him join us and share his knowledge with us as we continue to grow our program throughout the state.
We are so excited for these new board members to impart their wisdom upon our organization and help us continue to help children throughout California reach their God-given potential. By keeping our organization’s foundation strong, we ensure that The Leaven will remain strong for years to come.
And we’re grateful to the board members who have served so faithfully, some since our earliest days. These men and women have an amazing heart for Children, for sharing God’s love, and for helping neighborhoods become great communities.
Thank you for supporting us and reminding us how important our work is to the community. We are so thankful that all of you care so deeply about the work we do. We would not be successful without you.
Here’s to a bright new year full of opportunity and hope!
