This week has been one of my favorites of this entire year, but maybe not for the reasons you might imagine. This has been the first week in over three months that I was able to turn off the air conditioning and open my windows. There’s a cool breeze coming through during the day to keep things comfortable, and at night it’s cool enough to warrant a sweater.
Being able to open wide the windows doesn’t just mean a lower electric bill; it also is renewing. I can hear the sounds of the outdoor world and smell the fresh breeze. It energizes me as I feel this season of change begin to roll in and begin the process that will breathe new life into the world.
Education is like a breath of fresh air in the lives of a community, helping to connect residents to each other, and improve the health and wellbeing of all who are touched by its affects. Education isn’t just about reading and writing; it’s about creating new opportunity and life for all who breathe in its affects.
Tomorrow is our Annual Gala, and we are so grateful for all of our amazing sponsors who have made this event possible. This very special event helps us to provide our award-winning tutoring and mentoring program to students throughout California year-round.
And just last week we told you we were less than 100 followers short of reaching 4000 likes on Facebook, and within 48 hours we reached that milestone! We are so thankful for your support. Just by liking our Facebook page, you’ve helped us share the life-changing work done by at The Leaven.
Because friends like you support The Leaven, we are able to allow education to breathe new life into communities throughout California. Your support is truly a breath of fresh air to these communities and their residents. We rely on the support of friends like you in order to keep our center doors open, and we are so thankful to each of you, because together we are helping kids and communities rise.
